Rumblings about what the fate of Chattooga County School Superintendent Dr. Dwight Pullen would face at the end of his current contract had been going around Chattooga County for several weeks.  Any questions about what might happen were put to rest yesterday when Dr. Pullen announced his resignation to Chattooga County school principals on Wednesday.

Dr. Pullen called a meeting of all the Chattooga County School principals yesterday to announce that he would be leaving his position at the end of his contract which is June of this year.  AM 1180 spoke with school board members on Wednesday who said that now that the question of whether or not Dr. Pullen would remain as school superintendent has been settled the work of finding a new superintendent will begin.

The Chattooga County Board of Education will be meeting this evening at 7 PM at the Education Center located at the old Pennville School for their regular monthly work session.
